"Laura worked with my son for 3 years and she was instrumental in getting him his dyslexia diagnosis at an early age that allowed intervention to start in those key early years.  Laura very quickly understood the type of learner my son was and made sure sessions would fit with his way of working. Although he found reading and spelling extremely challenging he was always very happy to have his sessions with Laura and would look forward to them every week!
Laura went out of her way to find books that she knew my son would enjoy and would take extra time to advise myself and my husband on the best approach when reading with him at home.  We found, through the work with Laura and her incredibly positive, kind, fun and informed approach our son was able to own his dyslexia and became more confident in the classroom and was able to speak up when he required extra support.  We all feel that if we hadn’t worked with Laura that our son would not have developed his reading, writing and spelling skills in the way he has. She gave him the foundation in order to reach the goals that both himself and school have set for him. He is about to move on to secondary education and even though it’s been a few years since he worked directly with Laura, the skills she taught him at that key stage in his education has allowed him to reach his potential and to head to secondary school with confidence in his literacy ability.
We feel extremely fortunate that our paths crossed and our son had a teacher who’s approach was always tailored to his exact needs. Any child and family would be lucky to have the opportunity to learn with Laura."
