I carry out full diagnostic dyslexia assessments from my home in Herne Hill. An assessment takes roughly three hours.
Children normally take a morning off school to attend and this is arranged by the parents.
The assessment is made up of many short activities to investigate verbal and non-verbal abilities, phonological processing and memory as well as looking at literacy attainment.

 

We take breaks as needed, either on the trampoline or a chance to doodle, depending on what works for the child. Children tend to have a good time and enjoy the morning.

 

I send out a questionnaire to parents and to the school which need to be returned before the assessment date.

I provide a detailed recommendations section for the school as well as a very detailed report on all areas of a child’s
cognitive profile and attainment levels. Reports will be sent to parents within three weeks of the assessment date.
